I'm achieving this with a midicc message that is set to event type OSC Routing and for a while I couldn't get fader feedback to work. Then I managed it somehow and noticed that the argument sent in the OSC Routing page is f (not "f") and this is when the feedback works. I don't know how I managed to get that as an argument, if I try typing it in, it appears as "f" and doesn't work. The f has a drop down menu triangle and shows a tick next to Float. I'm now working on the knobs andy again I have Lemur controlling the knobs fine and I can see the midicc light flashing in Osculator when I turn a knob in Mixbus, but again no feedback. I don't know what the argument should be for knobs to work, I tried editing a copy of the fader one so I could have f as an argument but this doesn't work. What argument do I need to have for knobs and how do I enter it without ""? Thanks! If I leave the token as allargs, it doesn't work eitherĪ lot of what I've learnt has been by jumping between TouchOsc, Osculator and Lemur, but I'm stuck at this point. OSC OSCULATOR LEMUR TEMPALTE SWITCHING FORUM MANUAL.I'm brand new to all this remote midi assigning OSC stuff and am just starting to figure it out for myself, but am successfully controlling cubase and some effects and soft synths with my own custom touchOSC templates now, and believe me. For push buttons and toggles, I've found that unless I select Not Automated along with Push or Toggle there is a delay. Example: For a mixer fader select the device (mixer), the channel (track), the value (volume) and leave the flags empty. In the bottom box assign each control to whatever parameter you want it to control. Then under flags select receive and transmit. I keep the osculator window open so I can see visually which control is which by moving it. ![]() In the top box name each control and assign it the same midi channel and address that you gave them in osculator. In the Generic Remote settings select osculator out under midi input and osculator in under midi output. Click on Remote Devices then click the plus sign above it to create a new generic remote. Then in cubase open Device Setup in the Devices menu. I assigned them all as midicc event types, gave them incrementally increasing values and assigned them all to channel 16 - though I don't think it really matters what channel you assign them to. Click the done button and whoop there it is.Įach time you move a fader or control it shows up in osculator. Then I created a customized layout with the touchosc editor and synced it to my ipad by selecting the layout in touchosc. Sorry but I don't know a windows alternative.Īfter installing osculator I opened touchosc on my ipad and found my computer in the network section. The key for me was OSCulator, once I got that everything fell into place. I just got touchosc on my ipad running with cubase 5. Many thanks to David Morley for the heads up on such a wicked little app as its made a right pain in the arse issue go away for very little cost I love it, i can now sit that bit back when i come to accessing the bass and kick bottom end and use my phone so i don't have to move out the spot. So ive just got the touchosc up and running and have mapped a few quick things like the psp squad mc eq i use on my bass and also some fader controllers. The trouble was i ended up just out of arms reach of the faders on my mackie so had to slide back have a quick shifty move forward tweak move back etc etc. I have sort of got use to the room and know what sounds right now. I have a mackie control already which i use and love but ive got a real crap spot in my room right where i sit where the low end just really dips (small crap 4x4x4 room) if i move back 3 ft or so then it comes back and sounds nice and deep (yes i should treat the rear wall but there's a window and a door and allsorts so i play the slide up and down the room in my chair evaluating the low end at the end of mixing down. Owning both an iphone and cubase and after reading the million and 1 posts on the ipad thanks to Mr Morley's headsup i thought id give the touchosc and osculator a crack and see if i could get it to control cubase. ![]()
